me and Chancelee Edney...this was taken right before she gave
a brief testimony of how God has worked in her life and especially
since her accident...also the barrels from our Bar None Barrel
Race that Chancelee Edney did for us...

last few weeks due to the weather being prettier and she's

I know
it would really brighten her day if she received some card
or call from people she doesn't really even know....I have
a team roping and a barrel race that I'm putting on this
weekend so I won't be able to go over there but I'm sure
going to call and try to send her something myself! She
has been such a strong inspiration to me!!! Love that woman
to death!!!

15, 2010, 8:57pm PST - Merry Christmas from Bess!! 
Bess asked
me to share the message of how much she thanks everyone for
all the love, care, support, cards/letters and the many, many
prayers she has received over the last couple years since
her accident. She is doing good....we took these pictures
this past weekend at the Quinn's and I told Bess I would share
them with the ebr family since you guys have been a huge support
for her! Some
of them are blurry, but I had to share them because they
were so cute! We had to SERIOUSLY bribe Cody for these pictures!
He was her traveling partner to all the barrel races and
she gets to see him regularly now as he stays with the Quinn's.
I hope
ya'll enjoy them as we had a ball taking them!! We wanted
to get some with the horses by her and outside but it was
soooo cold Sunday and she freezes so we had to settle for
a few inside shots!

19, 2010, 10:09am PDT - OK... I know this is minor but it's
sooo funny!!! (From Dina)
I stopped
by to see her Friday night after I worked my roping, visited
for about an hour...then stopped again on the way thru to
my sister's Saturday. She is still raising her arm up and
down quite a bit...she said she's been practicing a lot and
I'm so proud of her for staying so strong willed through this
whole ordeal. She
has always said from the time we started taking care of
her and I absolutely LOVED to aggitate her that one day
she was going to kick my tail end or look forward to the
day she could just punch me. 
I know she's picking back at me (to a certain extent) but
Saturday before I left she said, "one of these days
missy! I'm gonna get you back." Well, I leaned down
by the bed and said, "now's your chance!" She
picked her arm up just far enough that it was on my cheek
and she bounced it back and forth on my cheek like she was
slapping me.....of course it didn't hurt, but I told her
she had FINALLY reached a goal she had set!!! We both started
laughing!! Ya'll just don't know how much of a hard time
I give her all in fun! She tells everyone she feels like
a puppy with new tricks...."sit, stay, shake"....she's
hilarious! That's OK though....she's picking her arm up!
She's not able to use it, of course, and she doesn't have
feeling but we will take anything she can get at this point!!
She's
been doing pretty good....she's had a few rough days but
overall, nothing really bad....
I just
asked that everyone please continue to keep her in your
prayers....she's a very good friend of mine and I love her
to death! It hurts my heart to know she's so dependent on
everyone for everything... |

20, 2010, 9:30am PDT - Woo Hoooooooooo!!!!! (From Dina)
After
2 years, Bess has gradually improved in different areas. She
has been able to pick up her arm maybe an inch off the bed,
which was huge to her. Friday night I stopped by there after
our church team roping to visit. This picture was taken about
11:30 at night. I was agitating her asking what she could
do with her arm and the result is shown in the picture!! This
was taken after we had been working at it for a few minutes
and she was tired. She had actually gone further before this
picture was taken!!
Praise God because that is who has allowed all this to happen!!!!
On a personal note -- Mrs. Barbara/Mr. Charlie -- Thank you
for everything!!! You have been both of our angels!!! Mine
and Bess’s rock and support!! We love ya'll soooooo
much!!!!!!!
Everyone please keep the prayers going for our friend! I talked
to her this morning...she said last night while in her chair,
she picked her arm up and put it across the bar that goes
over her stomach in the chair. She also made a small "teepee"
(as she called it) with her left hand. She hasn't been able
to do that but that is exactly how her right hand started
out! Baby step after baby step!!!!

- Bess Needs Prayers (From Dina)
I also
talked to Bess a few minutes ago...she sounded a little
yucky. She's hoarse, so it's kind of hard for her to talk
on her phone because she has the speaker phone. She said
she was doing OK, just puny, running a fever still. I will
try to keep everyone updated! ~Dina

KEEP HER IN YOUR PRAYERS!!! WE DEFINITELY DO NOT NEED ANYTHING
TO GET WORSE FOR HER!!!!!! |

- Bess Needs Prayers (From Barbara Quinn)
Good morning
– Bess wasn't feeling great yesterday...blood pressure
was low, which is not abnormal for her since her accident
(2 years ago).
I just got a call from Autumn Leaves and they told me Bess
is feeling really bad and wouldn’t get out of bed. She
is running a fever and coughing up green stuff. It sounds
like an upper respiratory infection to me. They are going
to do a chest x-ray and start her on antibiotics today. I
knew she was feeling really bad yesterday and this morning
when I talked to her on the phone her throat was really hoarse.
Hopefully, the antibiotics will knock it out and it won’t
progress to anything really bad. ~Barbara |
